Under Florida law, a "threshold building" is a structure that exceeds certain size or occupancy limits — generally larger buildings greater than three stories or 50 feet in height, or with an assembly occupancy over a set threshold. Threshold inspections are structural inspections carried out by (or under the responsible supervision of) a licensed engineer or architect serving as the threshold/special inspector.
